Going commando for Lichen Sclerosis

After a really bad day of LS, I read going commando can help. So I went commando, I’m afraid I was not sitting like a lady for the first few hours and was whooshing air to help. However after a few hours I did start to feel comfortable. A mixture of dermovate, dermol and estrogen cream and fresh air to the nether regions, I actually started to feel better.

Learning all the time about LS and I highly recommend joining groups on Facebook if your on it. The support is amazing and along with that you learn and get ideas of what can and can’t work for you. Remember our bodies are all different so some things will work for others and not for you and vice versa.

I’m now using a douche, it works well as a portable bidet, so toilet roll is not needed, then gently pat down with a bamboo flannel. I brought several from Amazon so I could wash them after each use.

It’s worth pointing out that since I was 35 I have incontinence, I was told it was stress incontinence and when I’m very poorly I have no control. This was apparently because I was so poorly, your body needs to shut down everything and concentrate on things like the brain and heart. (Not sure if this is true, or been fobbed off)

Writing this hasn’t been easy, I feel ashamed and disgusted at myself, however I’m hoping I can help others even if a little. The incontinence has stopped since being treated for Lichen Sclerosis, I can go commando the whole day and nothing. I’ve been wearing pads since I was 35 and I’m now 57, now now wondering if it was because of LS, I’ve been having what I assumed and doctors assumed thrush since I was 30, it was so bad that I was given a 6 months supply of flucanazole. However was it LS misdiagnosed?

Keep hoping for a cure and keep fighting and looking after yourself. YOU ARE IMPORTANT
